Short story generation
A 2,000-token prompt generates a 1,500-token story. Cost: (2,000 / 1,000,000 × 0.15) + (1,500 / 1,000,000 × 0.50) = $0.0003 + $0.00075 = $0.00105.
Long-context analysis
A 50,000-token context window processes a 16,000-token response. Cost: (50,000 / 1,000,000 × 0.15) + (16,000 / 1,000,000 × 0.50) = $0.0075 + $0.008 = $0.0155.
Batch data extraction
Ten requests each use 5,000 input tokens and 500 output tokens. Cost per request: (5,000 / 1,000,000 × 0.15) + (500 / 1,000,000 × 0.50) = $0.00075 + $0.00025 = $0.001. Total for ten requests: $0.01.
How prepaid credit works
Your API key draws from a prepaid balance. You top up with USDT (TRC20) or USDC (Base) in whole amounts between $20 and $500. Each request deducts the exact token usage from your balance. Errors and refusals cost nothing, so you only pay for successful completions.
Balance never expires. You can top up whenever needed without waiting for a billing cycle. This structure keeps your development costs predictable and eliminates surprise charges from unexpected traffic spikes.
Free trial credit
New accounts receive $0.50 in trial credit. You can test streaming, function calling, and JSON mode immediately.
Use the trial to verify latency and response quality. After the trial expires or the balance depletes, you must top up with crypto to continue using the API. This allows you to evaluate the model without financial commitment.
No hidden fees
We charge only for input and output tokens. There are no monthly subscription fees, no per-request overhead, and no hidden taxes. The base URL is HTTPS://api.apiopenrouter.com/v1, compatible with standard OpenAI SDKs.
Your prepaid credit covers all usage. If you make a mistake, such as a double charge, our Support page handles fixes. Credit is non-refundable but never expires, ensuring your investment lasts as long as you need it.
Common questions
How do I top up my API key balance?
You can top up using USDT on the TRC20 network or USDC on the Base network. Minimum deposits start at $20, and you can deposit up to $500 at a time. Larger deposits earn bonus credit: +5% for $50, +10% for $100, and +15% for $200.
What happens if I don't use my trial credit?
The $0.50 trial credit expires after 7 days. You do not lose any value beyond the trial period itself. You can start a new trial with a different account, but each account gets only one trial credit.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Crypto only: USDT on TRC20 or USDC on Base, any whole amount from $20 to $500. Bonus credit applies from $50.
Is the uncensored model the same as OpenAI's models?
No. Our model is an open-weight model tuned for uncensored responses. It is not GPT, Claude, or any other vendor's model. You use the standard OpenAI SDK, but the underlying model is ours, running on our servers.
